I really like the layout of the photos worked out because the photos are not all portrait or landscape so having the layout kind of mixed works well because it makes people actually look at the photos instead of looking through them. I wanted to have a description on what the photos re about so I put small amount of text at the end.

Final Images for Quays News and Gallery
After going through the experimental editing that I tried out I decided to go with the simplest idea as it gets the point across with out confusing people. These photos will be used for the quays news article and for the gallery.
Hidden Door
As you can see the door has been bricked up so that no one would enter the derelict building. The door is hidden in plane view people walk past it everyday and don't notice it even I only noticed it when I was actual looking for something that was hidden in plain view. I kept the composition similar in both of the photos, the bricked up door is on the left hand side of the photo in both of the photos, I wanted to show that draw people eyes to the door in the photo on the left so I thought that maybe if the the door was more to the left in the photo on the right then they might notice it more.
With these photos I thought that the feature above the door was quite interesting as i recently read about a god called Janus who is a roman religion and mythical god of beginnings and transitions and thereby gate, doors, doorways and endings. People used to place ether a stone feature or carve his head above their doors for protection and new beginnings. Its interesting as this does not happen anymore and seeing this feature above the door being unnoticed reminded me of that.
This building seem to be used as some sort of shop, I first saw the feature above the door and thought that it must have been an important building in the past as it has the feature above the door is a coat of arms for Salford which I dint know until recently. So it would seem that the Salford coat of arms has been forgotten just like the feature above the door.
This building used to be some sort of club but has been closed for a number of years. Most of the doors and windows have been bricked up so that people can not enter the derelict building. I chose this part of the building because you can clearly see the door that is most likely to be noticed by passes by but their is also the bricked up window that is less likely to be noticed.
This is of the same building as the photos above but from a different part their are a number of windows that have been bricked up and it is more noticeable because the bricks are a different colour. As you can see their is a row of the bricked up windows along the wall, I wanted to get a photo of all of them and then just focus on the one.
I noticed this exit down an alleyway and thought it was quite funny because their is a large bin in the way even thought it is the exit is blocked, you would think that an exit would be more noticeable then it is. I only noticed it because of the large red bin in the way. I wanted to get a photo of the bin in front of the exit to show how the exit is being used and then a close up of the actual exit feature.
I noticed that this building has a large black door in the front but then noticed the three windows that had been blocked with wood they had also been blocked from view by the tree which hides them from view.
When I saw this part of a road I thought that the exposed brick underneath the cement reminded me of a shoe print. The bricks look like they used to be the road be for we started using cement, it looks like the brick road is trying to remind people that it is their.
I have seen this building a number of times and always thought that it could do with some cleaning up since it is such a beautiful feature but as you can see it has plants growing out of it and it looks quite sad. The building doesn't look to be in use so I thought that it has been forgotten.
I have always liked how these windows looked because to me it makes them stand out, but saying that I don't think it gets notices as often as it should because their are a number of windows and this one is not on eye level you would have to look up to notice it which I doubt many people do.
