Experimental ideas

Idea 1

I want to link the photo of the blocked up door and the wall that has the row of blocked doors together so I tried layering the two photos together to show that it was hidden in plain view.

At first I like the way the photo looked but I then started to think that maybe it would not show my idea in this one photo because it does look confusing trying to figure out what the photo is about. saying that though it could also make people think about what is hidden.

Idea 2

This was another idea of combing two images to show what people are not noticing while walking past so I pasted the features from the image on the right on to the photo on the left except it was bigger I then decided to draw around it so that it would be more noticeable.

I do like how this photos shows what people are missing but after looking at it I think that maybe the thick black box that is showing the unnoticed feature is a little distracting from the actual meaning behind the photo so I think it would work better it the line was thinner kind of like a pen line instead of a thick line that is distracting people from what I want them to see.

Idea 3

This photo is an idea that was more to show what a person is missing in a simply way by just enlarging the feature and placing it next to the fulling image. I do like this idea as it is simply and to the point but is it to simply for a gallery especial when I think about how I want to show the unnoticed parts of Salford.

The story for the photos

I wanted to write something that would be linked to my idea of hidden in plain view. The short paragraph below is what I came up with I hope that makes since to other since it mad since to me.

Hidden things are not always out of site but they can some times be out of mind so look at the things that you would not usually look at and you might find something interesting for example a bricked up door or window that has been forgotten of hidden faces on a old building these things are hidden in plain view

Some Selected Photos

I did a number of  photo for this assignment and i wanted to briefly say something about the photos but instead of saying something for every photo I decided to choose 3 photos that I liked the most from the photo shoot. I wanted to say why I chose the different parts of building to photograph.

This is a large feature on top on one of the building in Salford, I walked past it and didn't really notice it till I turned around. I wanted to get a closer look at the features on the building and thought the dome was quite interesting with it looking old also the plants growing out of it help to show that it has been forgotten. I like that it was a nice day when I was doing the photo shoot for this assignment because the background makes the large feature stand out because it quite dark compared to the bright sky.

I saw this set of bricked up window and thought they were a perfect example of hidden in plain view since the windows are their but unnoticed since they have been bricked up to prevent any one from entering the building. With this photo I wanted to show how many windows had been bricked up, the bricked up windows draw you in the photos because you want to follow the wall to see the bricked up windows.

This is a feature above a door, when I first noticed the feature I thought it was a bit creepy since it looks like its eyes are open but their is nothing their. The photo is quite symmetrical, the arch  is leading to the face it draw the eye to the face which is in the center. the lined are clear and simply which I like because it make it look clean.

Hidden in Plain View - Photos

With the idea of "Hidden in Plain View" i went out and photographed things that people would not normally pay attention. Some of the photos are of features on buildings that have been forgotten or windows and doorways that have been filled in with bricks these are also "Hidden in Plain View" but aren't noticed.
